Financial restructuring

Rescheduling debt and security through negotiation with creditors, before any insolvency proceedings are opened.

A company in financial difficulty usually has more room for manoeuvre than it believes, provided it acts early. Restructuring means renegotiating maturities, security and costs with each creditor, within a plan creditors accept because it offers them more than enforcement would.

We prepare the documentation needed for discussions with creditors, negotiate restructuring agreements and contractual rescheduling, review the security granted and make sure the arrangements are put in writing and are enforceable. Where restructuring is no longer possible, the file passes to the insolvency practice of the team.
