From these records, the hosting service produces statistics on the number of visits, the pages consulted most often and the volume of data transferred. We consult them to know whether the site is working properly and what information visitors are looking for. The statistics are aggregated: they concern the number of requests, not the person behind them. We build no profiles, we do not follow visitors from one site to another, and we do not combine this information with what you send us through the contact form.

Keeping the records and producing the statistics rests on the legitimate interest of maintaining the site in working order, defending it against abusive access and understanding how it is used. The records rotate automatically on the server, and the statistics remain as monthly totals, without individual addresses.
